Acceleration for youth athletes!

Two of the big rocks of acceleration that we teach our youth athletes is body position and force into the ground (pushing back into the ground)

Here are a few snippets of some of the progressions we use in our current youth program

1) Resistance High Knee March – teaching them to push harder into the ground through a fundamental technique drill

2) Triple Extension – teaching knee and hip drive in the first step

3) Sled Run – A light resistance to encourage maintaining body position and more force into the ground

4) Falling Start – falling into a good body position and using the reaction of our leg to explode out
