Kids are always going to jump, so let’s make sure they jump (& land) properly. Whether it is involved in their sport or they just have a ridiculous amount of energy it is very hard as coaches to stop kids from jumping around. That is why as part of our youth program we encourage it, whilst making sure that they are jumping correctly but also importantly landing correctly in order to avoid injury. Throughout our program we have all kinds of jumps 1.Standing vertical 2.Running 3.Long/Broad jumps 4.Single leg jumps Plus many more! With all of these variations we are coaching our youth athletes the correct technique to get the most power and also putting an emphasis on good landing mechanics.
